Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2B

The ZX Spectrum +2B (1988) is a later production revision of the +2A — functionally the same machine (black case, +3-style ASIC motherboard, 128 KB RAM, built-in cassette Datacorder, no floppy), produced after Amstrad revised the board and component sourcing. It’s listed as its own GeekDex entry rather than a variant of the +2A for the same reason the +2A itself is split from the grey +2: catalogue-worthy board revisions, not just a colour or region change.

Telling a +2A from a +2B apart from the outside is difficult — the difference shows up on the PCB and in the keyboard membrane connector, not the case.
